Guy Landymore is an accomplished Marine Cargo and Equipment (onshore / offshore) Underwriter with extensive experience across the Lloyd’s and London insurance markets.
Recently serving as a Senior Underwriter at Newline Underwriting Management Ltd, Guy specialises in structuring, assessing, and pricing complex global cargo risks for a diverse portfolio of clients, brokers, and international trading partners until his retirement.
With a career rooted in technical underwriting excellence, Guy previously held a key role at Brockbank, Oxygen Insurance and Skuld 1897, where he spent over thirty years as a specialist Marine Cargo Underwriter. During this period, he developed deep expertise in cargo exposures, supply-chain vulnerabilities, and the operational realities of global logistics. His analytical approach and strong broker relationships helped shape robust, sustainable underwriting strategies within the syndicate(s).
Guy’s professional background also includes experience at MGA Oxygen bringing a commercial mindset and leadership perspective to his underwriting practice. Known for his clarity of judgement, collaborative style, and ability to balance risk with opportunity, he is recognised as a trusted partner to brokers and clients navigating the complexities of international trade.
Prior to working for the Brockbank Syndicate he started his marine insurance career at Sedgwick and Alexander Howden/AON’s broking houses. Combined he has accumulated more than 40 years in the Marine Cargo sector.He will continue to contribute to the strength of the London market through disciplined consultancy, market engagement, and a commitment to delivering responsive, technically sound solutions and advice in an evolving global risk landscape as a consultant for Hyperion.
